Review – Art Rage 2

I know we have already brushed up on the fact that we should draw more in the traditional way… Well that statement is not entirely true. Sometimes it is better to begin the concept phase in digital form. This is given the program also gives you the ability to perform your “MAGIC”. We refer to MAGIC as FREEDOM if you have not read the previous draw more! post.
I think the argument statement would be true if a person has a decent program, like Photoshop or Art-rage and as a lot of skills and experience on first starting off on the computer with the concept and design, then I think you have a good case to go against the traditional way of things. Also one more thing is that art-rage 2 in particular is pretty cool, affordable and it really sticks to simpleness.
If you are a traditional artist and you are about the make the jump from the real world to the digital one. Get yourself a Wacom tablet and a copy of Art-rage 2 for starters. Do not start right away in advanced programs like Photoshop. Mainly if your goal is to manimuplate pictures, then get photoshop of course. But for concept drawing, I find Art-Rage 2 to be more than efficient. For finalising my projects I then throw them in Illustrator, then I end up throwing them in Photoshop for the final touches. This pattern works well, but personally I would love to just use one program alone, instead of 3 different ones (HINT: Are you reading this ADOBE? :P )

Keep an eye open out for Pen Tablets as well. I actually got my copy of Art-rage 2 with my Wacom Bamboo tablet as an add-in bonus. It was the best gift ever! Eventhough I still draw in the traditional sense. It was a good program that introduced me to drawing digitally using my tablet. I have prior knowledge of Photoshop it is really a program that I use every single day. But when it came to drawing and brush manipulation it got me a bit confused. On that note I just use Art-rage 2 for brushing/drawing purposes and Photoshop for its other wonderful tools. I am weird, I know!
Try out Art-rage 2 and we are pretty sure you will fall in love with it. You can really see the developers poured their hearts out on this program, because it is so well. We here love it and I am sure you will too. Who doesnt mind spending $25 on a fully featured program!?

I totaly agree with you, the program is GREAT ;-) but why should you give 25$ when you can get it for free on internet web sites such as pirate bay. It’s true that you don’t get a tablet with it, but you get a fully faetured program for free. The only problem is that downloading from pirate bay is illegal  but i don’t mind.

Yeah, but the point in paying for the software, especially at that price is to kind of support the platform in itself. The more they earn the more they can improve upon it. And it is only 25$ bucks, I have bought meals more expensive than that!
