Making YOUR own website is HARD!
We have just “stumbled upon” a very cool article written by A list Apart. These guys are really good and professional in their execution, especially CSS. Anyways, this is an interesting article regarding how we approach our own websites as webdesigners. We are of course our own worst critic since we happen to nitpick at everything we see.
This is known to be the hardest thing for any webdeveloper/designer to do. For that A list Apart decided to give us some cool pointers on where to start if we are ever to embark on that quest.
“As of 2008, I’d owned my own company, Lealea Design, for three years. I was aware of the need to show peers (often a source of referrals and speaking invitations) and potential clients that I was proficient in the very latest developments and trends in the industry. I had also realized that my site, at three years old, no longer reflected my personal brand or showcased my design services, my capabilities, or myself. Since self-branding is one of my specialties, this was inexcusable.” - Lea Alcantara
Follow Lea on her journey of updating her website and maybe you will pick up a lot of stuff. We found it to be pretty informative.
